Holiday Nostalgia

There were friends, there were family, there was food, and there was celebration.

There were homemade cinnamon rolls and the first snowfall on Christmas afternoon.

There was a train table, and Legos, a kitchen, and trucks galore.

There was the (almost) disappearance of Nico's fear of Santa, and Noah's complete lack of fear of anyone or anything, and a fascination with Christmas lights.

There was the incessant watching of "Frosty the Snowman," the repetitive singing of "Jingle Bells," and the occasional small child (usually one of mine) running full force into the Christmas tree.

There was priceless time spent with cousins, rousing games of Pictionary and Yahtzee, a girls' night out on the town, and falling asleep at 11 on New Year's Eve.

It was a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Here's to a blessed and joyful and wonderful 2013...
